Giwa Gardens On The Gram

  • I grew up (@keji_giwa ) in schools my father took loans to send me to and the other kids were driven in brand new cars, had the latest Nintendo consoles, Sega Games and all bragged about going to the water park in Ikeja.A place I dreamed of going but never went to perhaps because my parents were too busy hustling trying to give me and my sisters the best education they were hustling so hard to afford.Very soon though, very soon. The largest water park in West Africa will bear my name, the new class of rich & wealthy will take their kids there but this time, when they show off to the other kids in school, my daughter Hazel Ayoola Giwa will tell them…. “My daddy built and owns Giwa Gardens water park.”They may underestimate you now but tomorrow is a different story all together. My name is Keji Giwa and I came from a humble middle class family just like most hard working Nigerians. My father was head of production at WAMCO, the Peak Milk you drink today, yep that company and he invented Three Crowns, the more affordable one every Nigerian drinks with corn flakes or coffee. His father, my grandfather was an Hausa man from Niger state who came to Lagos for greener pastures. Its easy for people to write you off when they can’t see your future. This is why its very important that as a parent you ask God to open your eyes regarding your children’s future. Your job is to lay the path, empower & prepare them, leaving them enough to build on so they can set their own course in life with ease.My mum & dad did their part. Now I am doing mine for the next generation of GIWAs.Today its @giwagardens tomorrow it’s Giwa whatever they want to be in life.Let this be your story today. Say it with me: “I am a working progress, progressively unveiling my potential for the benefit of not this generation but also the next generation. Our prayer is that we don’t have parents so self centred and so selfish they don’t put the interest of the children first.Forget yourself when children are involved. You will find yourself when you put them first.Create unforgettable memories together @giwagardens
